My experience with CTB Performance & Accessories was extremely disappointing.
I engaged CTB after reading about their Suzuki Jimny tuning packages in NZ Autocar and expected a professional and transparent process. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect that expectation.
The timeframe originally discussed was exceeded by more than eight additional weeks. During this period, my vehicle remained off the road far longer than agreed, resulting in significant inconvenience and financial impact.
Communication changed noticeably after payment was made in advance. Responses became inconsistent, calls were often not returned, and explanations for delays frequently shifted between third parties (including transport, insurance, certification, and subcontractors). As a customer, I was left feeling that responsibility for the delays was never clearly accepted.
I understand that unexpected delays can occur in the automotive industry. However, proactive communication, accountability, and transparency are essential — especially when a vehicle is prepaid and in the workshop’s control. In my case, I did not experience those standards.
There was also a resent issue regarding a warranty part that I was told had been shipped. I was later informed it had been returned by the courier, then lost in transit, and that the tracking details could not be retrieved. Throughout this process, communication again became inconsistent and explanations changed. As a customer, this further reduced my confidence in how the matter was being handled.
Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering work with CTB to ensure all timelines, responsibilities, warranty processes, and payment terms are clearly documented in writing before proceeding.
This has been a costly and frustrating lesson for me.
